Ernesto Treviño
Ernesto Treviño received his Master and Doctor of Education from Harvard University and a Bachelor in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico. He has led evaluations of early childhood educational interventions and international comparative studied in the region of Latin America. His research interests focus on the intersection of policy impact evaluation and understanding the teaching mechanisms that produce different effects on child development and learning. Currently he is a professor at the Faculty of Education of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, a researcher at the Center of Studies of Policies and Practices in Education, and is the incoming director of the Center for the Transformation of Education housed in the same university. He directs several evaluation projects of early childhood education, impact of educational reforms, factors that explain student learning and teacher quality. He is a frequent contributor in the national media.
