Daryl J. Maeda
Daryl Joji Maeda, associate professor and former chair of ethnic studies, has been a member of the faculty since 2005. He is an interdisciplinary cultural historian, exploring how racial identities and politics are embedded within and expressed through cultural productions. He has published two books on the Asian American movement of the 1960s and 1970s and is currently writing a cultural history of Bruce Lee.
As associate dean for student success, Maeda is committed to creating a learning environment in which all students can fulfill their potentials and achieve their goals. He oversees the CU Boulder Academic Advising Center, student recruitment and scholarships for the College of Arts and Sciences, and also its residential academic programs and the curriculum office.
