NEPC’s January Education Interview of the Month Podcast Explores Schools of Opportunity

BOULDER, CO (January 17, 2018) – In January’s NEPC Education Interview of the Month, Greg Smith discusses the Schools of Opportunity project and the characteristics of “schools of opportunity” with Linda Molner Kelley and Adam York of the University of Colorado Boulder.

Each year the project’s Schools of Opportunity awards recognize high schools that are actively closing opportunity gaps for their students by implementing research-based practices and providing all their students access to rich learning experiences and healthy school cultures that support and engage them in learning.

According to Molner Kelley and York, “These schools are helping us to rethink what it means to be a good school and shining a spotlight on policies and practices that help schools provide students with inspiring opportunities to learn.”

A new NEPC Education Interview of the Month, hosted by Gregory A. Smith, Lewis and Clark College Emeritus Professor of Education, will be released each month from September through May.

Don’t worry if you miss a month. All NEPC Education Interview of the Month podcasts are archived on the NEPC website and can be found here.
