Martin Lipton
Martin Lipton is an education writer and consultant and has taught in public schools for thirty-one years. He is coauthor with Jeannie Oakes of Making the Best of Schools (1990) and Teaching to Change the World (4th edition, 2013), in which Lipton’s photographs of teachers and their students in social justice classrooms appear on the cover and throughout the book’s chapters. In 2001, Oakes and Lipton received AERA’s Outstanding Book Award for their book Becoming Good American Schools: The Struggle for Virtue in Education Reform.
