Jerry Johnson

Jerry Johnson holds a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in English from Eastern Kentucky University. He received the Ed.D. in Educational Studies from Ohio University in 2005. Dr. Johnson now coordinates and teaches in the College’s doctoral program in Educational Administration and co-directs the Institute for Democracy in Education. Formerly the research director for the Rural School and Community Trust, a national non-profit organization addressing the crucial relationship between good schools and thriving communities, he has also been a high school teacher and principal. His primary research interests include rural education, educational equity, place-based pedagogies, and school finance.
