Wachter is a professor and the interim chairman of the department of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, and the author of “The Digital Doctor: Hope, Hype, and Harm at the Dawn of Medicine’s Computer Age. In 2015, Modern Healthcare magazine named him the most influential physician-executive in the United States.
