Kimberly Kappler Hewitt
Dr. Hewitt is an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Previously she taught middle and high school in Atlanta, Georgia, and later served as an elementary principal for six years and as a district administrator for more than seven years in the areas of curriculum and instruction; professional development; data and accountability; new teacher induction and mentoring; and gifted services.
Dr. Hewitt now teaches coursework in instructional leadership, data use, qualitative methods, and statistics and basic quantitative methods. Her research focuses on ethical and efficacious use of educational data; implementation and sustainment of educational reform; and practitioner scholarship. She is the author of Differentiation is an Expectation: A School Leader’s Guide to Building a Culture of Differentiation (2011, Routledge) and editor of Postcards from the Schoolhouse: Practitioner Scholars Examine Contemporary Issues in Instructional Leadership (2013, NCPEA Press).
