Dr. Jomills H. Braddock, II is Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Miami. He received his Ph.D. from Florida State University in 1973. His broad research interests in issues of inequality and social justice have been supported by public and private grants and contracts addressing equality of opportunities in education, employment, and sports. His work on these topics typically involves secondary analyses of large-scale national longitudinal data and address public policy issues. Dr. Braddock previously served two terms on the National Educational Research Policy and Priorities Board and is also the Director of the Center for Research on Sport in Society.
