Charity Welch
Dr. Charity R. Welch is an assistant director in client services at Measured Progress where she collaborates with state clients to design and implement customized large scale assessment solutions. Her work across the education landscape has given her practical insights into how to best use assessment to improve teaching and learning using common Core State Standards. Before joining Measured Progress, Dr. Welch served as executive assistant to the president in a community college and associate professor in the Graduate School of Education at Coppin State University. She also served as executive assistant to the superintendent in DC Public Schools, and senior research analyst at the American Institutes for Research where she conducted research to reverse African American students’ patterns of overrepresentation in special education. Dr. Welch has served as associate editor of the JABSE Journal and reviewer for the Journal of Negro Education as well as the NACADA journal. She has published and presented on various topics related to education and cultural diversity.
