Dr. Van Overschelde is leading the formative evaluation of the University’s educator preparation program at Texas State University, and is responsible for OEP’s data dissemination and reporting. He is also an assistant professor in Curriculum & Instruction teaching courses in research methods. His research interests include improving the quality of educator preparation, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education at the middle and high school levels, and in applying cognitive science research findings to the classroom in order to improve instruction and learning.
